Sometimes my students just make my day...

Theme: Explain something about Japanese culture to Charlene.
Note: all kids usually talk about sushi, the kotatsu, judo, tako, kendo, tempura...

This one kid chose Mario (yes, the one from Nintendo):

He is called Mario. He is very popular and strong. He runs the risk in many places to help his princess. I think he will be a good father. (by Ryô)

This is called a "katana". It is used when you cook. I think fearful. (by Sayaka)

Note: a katana is a kind of sword. Other note: I do NOT know what they cook in her family.
